Elise and Exige rear tail light LED’s are known to fail over time which at best can ruin the look of your car and at worst cause an MOT failure. Because the light units are friction welded, it’s not possible to gain access to the internal PCB easily.

LotusLights provide a service to strip down, inspect and repair or replace any failed component on the lights PCB.

How it works

Our service

Failed LEDs in the outer lights of your Elise or Exige can look unsightly and can be the cause of an MOT failure. Replacing the lights is also expensive at £250+ a light.

Our repair service will replace each defective led with a new red Osram LED so your lights look as good as new

All work is carried out using a rework station and not a soldering iron. Rework blows targeted hot air at the component PCB to reflow the solder and allow for the LED to be removed and a new one added without damaging the PCB or LED.

Please note that the light units are friction/ultrasonic welded at the factory. This means the lenses are disassembled by means of cutting the lenses from the housing. Once fixed they are reassembled and sealed using CT1 polymer adhesive which creates a food bond and water tight seal. It also allows for future disassembly should it be required.

The cut and reassembly joint cannot be seen when on the car.
